Going back to the thought of Durge in their pod in the mind flayer colony breaking enough to beg Gortash to find and save them: AU where by sheer luck Gortash happens to be in the colony at the time, hears them, and comes running. Somehow this ends in the two of them travelling with the party, which is extremely awkward even before the "Oh yes this entire situation is our fault" thing what with Karlach being there.

#bg3 #durgetash #i don't know how it'd get from point a to point b. maybe bane and bhaal get mad at this BLATANT FRATERNIZING from their chosen or something #maybe the two of them just happen to have the bad luck to stow away on that particular nautiloid to get durge away from the necromancers #(these two are very strong and excellent heist buddies but they can't fight all the necromancers on their own with durge in such a state!)#(and that's assuming ketheric wasn't in cahoots with orin and won't set the true souls on them)#the point is gortash saving durge from orin is fantastic #and the idea of the two of them travelling with the party without convenient amnesia to cover up their involvement is very fun to me
